MCABC invites you to cast off at our inaugural Ultimate Catch Fishing Derby — a hands-on, high-spirited outing designed to spark camaraderie, competition, and a healthy dose of good-natured chirping. 

Putting out from the Fort Pub & Grill’s private dock in Fort Langley, you and your crew will head off in boats of four for an exclusive sturgeon fishing experience. Coolers stocked, lunches packed, lines in the water — this is networking without the name tags. 

Whether you’re an avid angler or have never touched a rod in your life, your guide will be on hand to share expert tips and techniques so you can focus on what matters: slowing down, kicking back, and enjoying six unbroken hours of pristine valley nature and great company.

Back on dry land, join us at the Fort Pub & Grill for a casual awards ceremony, a hearty meal, and a chance to trade stories from an unforgettable day on the water.

What’s Included?

• Six-hour guided sturgeon fishing tour

• One expert guide per boat

• All bait, tackle, and equipment, including rods

• Packed lunch

• One pre-stocked cooler per boat

• Awards for best catch, best boat, best angler, etc. 

Schedule

• 7:30 am: arrival on site

• 8:00 am: boats load up and put out three at a time

• 2:00 pm: return to shore

• 2:30 pm: pub grub and awards

• 5:00 pm: event ends

Important Event Information

• The Ultimate Catch Fishing Derby is a sturgeon fishing event.

• All participants must be 19+.

• All participants must hold at least a one-day Pacific Saltwater License to fish at the Derby. One-day licenses cost $6.46 and can be applied for here: https://recfish-pechesportive.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/nrls-sndpp/index-eng.cfm 

• Participants who already hold a valid annual saltwater license do not require any additional licenses.

• Participants will be required to present their license before boarding their boat for the day. Digital copies presented on a smartphone are acceptable. A strict ‘no license, no fishing’ rule will be enforced.

• With all trip balances being due 30 days in advance, registration for this event closes August 18, 2026.

Registration Information

• Registrations must be purchased as a boat of four. To register your crew, click 'Add Additional Attendee' and enter each crew member's name. If you do not have all crew members' names available when registering, enter TBD. Note that the deadline for submitting crew members' names is August 18, 2026.

• If your group includes both members and non-members, choose the category the ticket purchaser falls under. Once all your crew’s names have been submitted, you will be invoiced or reimbursed the difference in member and non-member pricing.

Cancellation Policy

Tickets are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend, tickets are transferrable to someone within the same rate category. To arrange this, please email Yleana at yalvarez@mcabc.org before September 16, 2026.
