MCABC’s New Manager to Drive Education Excellence

We are pleased to welcome Richard Hart, MCABC’s new Manager, Member Services and Professional Development.

Richard brings to the Association a wealth of knowledge and experience developing and delivering both practical and innovative educational programming.

Education is one of MCABC’s six strategic pillars and one that the membership has identified a priority. In addition to 20 years as a day and evening Instructor in BCIT’s School of Computing, Richard’s background in education, combined with his digital successes, will contribute to MCABC delivering new, varied and innovative programming that is aligned with our evolving industry.

Richard joins MCABC from the BC Water and Waste Association (BCWWA) where he is completing a contract as Education Manager. Prior BCWWA, over a 15 year period, Richard was involved in several innovative developments which included exploring Mixed Reality concepts for a large shipping company where he was an Education Consultant and Online Course Developer; creating an augmented reality application when Digital Director at Kidzsmart Concepts, a creative agency providing turnkey programs for restaurants and professional sports; and creating non-violent family-friendly games as co-founder of Ethical Entertainment.

Richard has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and is a graduate of the Vancouver School Board’s Instructor Training Program. Richard will start with MCABC on October 5th – we encourage members to connect with Richard to talk Education and share your suggestions for other member services that will enable your company’s success.
