MCABC will be hosting our FIRST mixer in the Fraser Valley area to bring together mechanical contractors in refrigeration, HVAC, and woodframe in a helicopter hangar at Chinook Helicopters. Chinook Helicopters has become one of the world's premier flight training facilities and operates from a large first-class facility. Our fun-filled mixer is a chance to be part of a growing movement to connect mechanical contractors across all regions.
Enjoy an evening of networking and entertainment with industry peers amongst a fleet of jets & helicopters. Your ticket includes: two (2) drink tickets, food, a tour of Chinook Helicopters, and entertainment by Canadian singer, songwriter, and producer, Ryan McAllister!

Key industry issues raised in conversation with Conservative Party of BC leader at VRCA event
|
Following MCABC's most recent Board of Directors meeting, a significant portion of which focused on critical industry issues MCABC’s Advocacy Committee will raise with the newly-elected government, CEO Kim Barbero attended VRCA’s Constructive Conversations event on August 28th with Conservative Party of BC leader, John Rustad.
Prompt Payment, climate targets, labour shortages and apprenticeship training are several subjects that topped the agenda, along with recognition that housing affordability is the key to keeping and attracting talented trades people in BC.
MCABC looks forward to continuing the conversation with candidates prior to the provincial election on October 19th. A special thank you to the Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA) and the British Columbia Construction Association (BCCA) for hosting this conversation.

The Canadian Standard Association Group (CSA Group) is inviting public review on the draft of the new CSA B56 Power Engineering – Facility Rating and Staffing Standard. This is an opportunity for the boiler, pressure vessel, refrigeration industry, and other safety partners, to suggest changes to the standard at the national level before publication.
Submit your feedback to the CSA Group by October 20, 2024.

Steve started Pitt Meadows Plumbing & Mechanical Systems with his brothers in 1979. For the past several decades, he has sought to deliver value for clients and build innovative projects that shape communities across British Columbia.
