MCABC Strategy Session

The room was buzzing with innovative ideas, entrepreneurial spirit, and potential solutions to address the shortage of workers, optimize trades training, and grow interest in pursuing careers in the mechanical contracting trades. MCABC’s Board of Directors and 2023-24 Board nominees recently spent a day in strategic discussions and planning related to workforce development for an industry accountable for delivering clean water, clean air, and comfort for all British Columbians in every community in BC.

The mechanical contracting industry represents 10 of the construction industry's core trades and is essential to moving the needle on climate action targets and making a real difference for communities in BC. The path to post secondary education has many streams – it’s time for parents and educators to broaden the options and shine the light on the mechanical trades.
