In January 2024, MCABC continues to build momentum. Over the next few months, we are offering exciting events and educational opportunities that will provide you with opportunities to network and build your skills, including the popular Gold Seal Accredited Project Management Program and our February #coffeetalk on Sustainable Energy Solutions. We are pleased to be kicking off 2024 with five new MCABC members. And speaking of membership, if you haven’t already renewed for this year, please do so right away. MCABC is proud to offer a Gold Seal Accredited Project Management Program in Mechanical Contracting

Project management skills are key to the success of your business and will improve your bottom line. This Project Management Program is specifically designed for mechanical contractors and the course offerings will give you the tools to master it. The program includes an overview of project administration, scheduling, safety protocols, change orders, communication, cost controls, and much more. 

The program takes place over a 10-day period and is split into two 5-day sessions. 

Location: Simon Fraser University (Surrey Campus)

Week 1: March 11-15th, 2024 from 8:30AM - 4:30PM 

Week 2: April 15-19th, 2024 from 8:30AM - 4:30PM 

**Program tuition could be covered through the BC Employer Training Grant Program. The BC Employer Training Grant provides funding to small, medium and large enterprises to support skills training for their workforces, including prospective new hires. Employers can receive 80 per cent of the cost of training up to $10,000 per employee, with a maximum annual amount per employer of $300,000. **

Explore Sustainable Energy Solutions with FortisBC in our February #coffeetalk

Join Mel Tugade, Key Account Manager at FortisBC, to learn about low-carbon and energy efficient solutions available for affordable housing providers, non-profits, and Indigenous Communities. Also, learn about new technology and innovative ways to reach sustainability goals such as gas absorption heat pumps and duel-fuel hybrid roof top units.

Mel will provide a refresher on the Fortis BC Customer Efficiency Program and he will discuss renewable natural gas and the future of energy in BC.
