Apprenticeship Recognition Month — Meet Julian Cimino
In honour of Apprenticeship Recognition Month this November, MCABC acknowledges the impactful contributions of Apprentices and remains committed to raising the profile of skilled trades in BC. This week, we’re highlighting one of our member Apprentices from Davidson Bros. Mechanical – Julian Cimino!
Julian is a third-year plumbing apprentice at Davidson Bros. Mechanical and has been with the company for over a year. He graduated with a Bachelor of Communications degree and worked for a telecommunications company where he transitioned into a technician role.
Julian made a complete career pivot into the trades after a conversation with a friend, during which he gained valuable insights about the plumbing trade and the opportunities in the mechanical contracting industry.
He enjoys the collaborative, team-oriented work environment. Julian credits his history in playing team sports as key for collaboration in the field. He believes that critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, and strong communication skills are invaluable assets on the job site.
Julian believes that anyone can thrive in the plumbing trade when they show up to the job with a positive attitude, a team player mindset, and a willingness to learn. Julian has now completed Levels 1 and 2 and is working towards becoming a certified Red Seal Plumber.
