As we reflect on 2024, MCABC had an incredible year of growth across our six strategic pillars: leadership, education, skilled trades, advocacy, collaboration, and innovation. Together, we are leading the change for the mechanical contracting industry.

Some 2024 highlights include the Business Conference & Trade Show, Annual Golf Classic, Christmas Cocktail Lounge, Pints & Planes, Okanagan Christmas: Holidays on Tap, Commissioning & Re-commissioning Workshop, Project Management Program, Advanced Supervision, and monthly #coffeetalks.

Through strong leadership, continued education, advocacy, and collaboration, the Association has positioned itself as a key partner in shaping the future of the industry.                   WorkSafeBC: Emergency procedures for hazardous substances

                    Part 5 of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation sets out the requirements for emergency planning relating to hazardous substances. On February 3, 2025, amendments to these requirements will come into effect. This resource provides an overview of the changes to help affected employers prepare for the new requirements.

                          IMPORTANT: Changes to Gasfitter Class B Program

                            Effective January 1, 2025, the Gasfitter - Class B program will become a Red Seal trade in BC certified by SkilledTradesBC.

                            New applicants looking to perform work as a Class B Gasfitter will require a Certificate of Qualification and Red Seal endorsement in Gasfitter – Class B issued by SkilledTradesBC and a Certificate of Qualification from Technical Safety BC obtained through the completion of an Acts, Regulations, and Directives (ARD) exam with Technical Safety BC.
