Gas Codes Consultation – Tech Safety BC inviting you to have your say
Technical Safety BC is inviting comments from MCABC members on the potential impacts of the proposed adoption of the latest editions of the CSA B149 gas code series, the CSA Z662 standard, and the BNQ-1784 for use in BC.
Most gas contractors and gasfitters commonly use the CSA B149.1 for equipment installation and CSA B149.3 for approvals. The changes in the new code would include:
- Requiring a permitting process for stationary engines
- New requirements for regulators and overpressure protection
- A newly consolidated annex for requirements from mobile food trucks
This consultation will be open until September 14th. You can comment on these changes and potential impacts on Tech Safety BC’s consultation page.
