Canada announces Express Entry invitations for newcomers with experience in the trades

Canada’s Express Entry system is will provide a streamlined pathway for individuals with expertise in critical fields, including candidates with trades expertise in carpentry, plumbing, and welding.

This move is designed to help with the labour shortage in Canada’s construction sector, and on August 1, it was announced that the first trades round for category-based selection was opening.

July BC Labour Force Survey: Tech and Science Jobs Growing

Brenda Bailey, Minister of Jobs, Economic Development and Innovation, has issued a statement on the labour force, noting that BC's unemployment rate is remains low and that the month of July saw 10,000 jobs created in science and technology.
